Surprise mode strips the birthday star from every share the page produces: WhatsApp invites, copy links, and social previews. The invite reads “U0001F92B Shhh… it's a surprise birthday party!” — the preview card says “A surprise birthday party” with the date and venue. No name, no tagline, no hero photo. Ever.

The password hides the page
Surprise mode hides the name — the Celebration page password hides the page itself. Even if a link leaks to the birthday star, they can't open it. The dashboard nudges you about this before you share: it's the one lock that matters for a surprise.

Every surprise page carries a “Psst — it's a surprise. Don't spill it.” reminder right on the share row, so the cousin who screenshots everything thinks twice. The RSVP still needs no account — fellow conspirators tap attending and they're in.

Milestone surprises are the sweet spot
A surprise 40th, 50th, or 60th gets everything else: the “Decades” guest memory section lets friends contribute a memory from every era of their life — all while the birthday star has no idea any of it exists. After the reveal, the memories become the gift.

How does Surprise mode actually work?+
Flip one toggle on your page. From then on, every share from the page excludes the birthday star: the WhatsApp invite reads “U0001F92B Shhh… it's a surprise birthday party!” with no name, and the link preview that unfurls in WhatsApp, iMessage, and Facebook says “A surprise birthday party” with the date and venue — the celebrant's name, tagline, and hero photo never appear. After the reveal, flip the toggle off and the page shows the name and photos like normal.
What if the birthday star finds the link?+
The preview gives nothing away — even if a link lands on their phone, it reads as an anonymous surprise party. And on Celebration you can add a guest password: with Surprise mode plus a password, the star can't open the page even if someone leaks the link. That's the whole point of the Celebration upsell: Surprise mode hides the name, the password hides the page.
Can I share the invite in a group chat without spoiling it?+
Yes — that's exactly what the mode is for. The share row gives you a copy link and a one-tap WhatsApp button whose prefilled text never names the celebrant, plus a “Psst — it's a surprise. Don't spill it.” reminder on the guest page itself. Even a forwarded screenshot keeps the secret.
Does this work for surprise milestone birthdays too?+
Yes — the 40th/50th/60th starter templates get the same Surprise mode toggle. Surprise milestone pages are the sweet spot: a surprise 50th with a “Decades” guest memory section lets friends contribute memories for every era of their life without the birthday star ever knowing it's coming.
Do guests need an account to RSVP?+
Never. Fellow conspirators open the link, tap attending, leave a note, done. Every account wall you remove is more RSVPs you actually get — and fewer chances someone texts the birthday star asking how to log in.
What happens after the party — can I reveal it?+
Flip Surprise mode off after the reveal and the page becomes the party's record: the countdown hides, the RSVP section turns into a “That was a party 🎉” recap with guest, photo, and memory counts, and the photo gallery stays interactive. Then one tap rolls the whole page forward twelve months for next year's party.
Can the page collect photos without leaking anything?+
Guest photo uploads land in your moderation queue, so you approve what shows — and while Surprise mode is on, guests are reminded not to post anything that spills it. The preview card stays anonymous regardless.
Is there really no subscription?+
Really. You pay once, and your paid page includes hosting for at least two years from the party date. We email you long before anything ever changes, and we never delete your page outright.
Can I reuse the page for next year's party?+
Yes — one tap rolls the page forward twelve months with the schedule advanced, and you get a nudge around renewal time so the next party starts from last year's page instead of a blank form.
